The final chapter examines the epidemiological and statistical issues concerning studies evaluating the diagnostic value of endotoxin assays. Although some chapters are reviews of previously published material, the book's value lies in the fact that it gracefully coordinates the myriad of recently accumulated data in the subject of endotoxins and their detection. This volume would be of particular value to investigators concerned with the detection and biological effects of endotoxins.
